A downloadable game

Lizard is a 3D platformer for genuine Sega Dreamcast hardware. The objective of the game is to move Lizard from the starting location to the "glowing platform". This win condition is detected by the game.

Tips:

  • Note that the glowing platform is visible from the default camera angle when the game is first started.
  • When falling helplessly into the void, press the Y button.

Controls:

  • Analog stick left+right: lizard orientation
  • Analog triggers left+right: lizard forward/reverse movement
  • A button: jump
  • Y button: teleport to the platform before the most recent platform
  • D-pad: change camera angle

Optional objectives:

  • Touch as many platforms as possible (some platforms may be unreachable)
  • Speedrun the game
  • Play the game without the Y button

Supported platforms:

  • genuine original Sega Dreamcast hardware

It is also possible to play this game in Flycast, a Dreamcast emulator. Note that Flycast has a rendering bug that affects Lizard's shadow volumes. The shadow volume rendering bug does not affect real hardware.

Supported input devices:

  • Dreamcast controller

It may be possible to play Lizard with other input devices, such as a PC keyboard connected to a Dreamcast emulator, or alternate controllers. However, Lizard's controls and response are optimized for genuine Dreamcast controllers connected to genuine Dreamcast hardware.

Supported video modes:

  • 640x480 @ 60Hz (VGA)
  • 320x240 @ 60Hz progressive NTSC (CVBS and SCART)
